Envera video system helps Florida police identify shooting suspects

COCONUT CREEK, FL July 14, 2016 Following a shooting in the Margate community of Coral Bay, Envera Systems’ Virtual Gate Guard System helped Margate Police identify the suspects and their vehicles.

At approximately 5:30 PM on Monday, April 11th, Margate Police received multiple 911 calls reporting a shooting at the 6300 block of Buena Vista Drive in Coral Bay. When officers arrived, they found one victim with multiple gunshot wounds.

Residents of the community provided officers with descriptions of two vehicles that fled the scene after the shooting. Detective Paul Christman contacted the video technicians at Envera, who immediately began reviewing footage from the Virtual Gate Guard Systems at the three community gates.

Within 24 hours, Detective Christman received all of the gate footage. After reviewing it, he was able to identify the license plate numbers of the suspected vehicles as they entered and exited the community.

“This information led to identifying our suspects and their vehicles,” said Detective Christman. “I would like to thank everybody at Envera Systems for all the assistance that was provided to the Margate Police Department.”

Envera’s Virtual Gate Guard System uses high-resolution cameras, video recorders and secure Internet connections to record footage of every vehicle that enters or leaves the community. The footage is stored remotely and can be replayed, analyzed and submitted to law enforcement when needed to help solve crimes or resolve other questionable activities.
