CohuHD Costar unveils latest camera for city surveillance, traffic management

SAN DIEGO, CA June 13, 2016 CohuHD RISE – “Ruggedized Innovation with Superior Endurance” HD Dome Camera Positioning System combines crystal clear HD image quality, bandwidth efficient H.264 compression, smooth variable speed positioning and IP68 protection delivering the CohuHD Costar quality and performance you expect.

CohuHD Costar is pleased to introduce the second product in a series of innovative camera systems, designed from the ground up using only the latest technologies including camera sensors, optics, encoding/compression, operating software, enclosure protection and positioning drive trains.

The 4220HD offers best-in-class features including superior full HD 1080p image quality combined with powerful 30x optical and 12x digital zoom, very low-light sensitivity, automatic image defog and dehaze analytics, electronic image stabilization (EIS), nitrogen-pressurized IP68 ingress protection along with PoE++ power input for convenience.

The 4220HD is ideal for easy installation and continuous operation for applications in city surveillance and traffic monitoring applications. CohuHD Costar video surveillance cameras are the choice for mission-critical applications around the world.

“Adding the 4220HD Dome to our RISE Series of cameras provides another outstanding addition to our RISE portfolio delivering superior video quality and performance at compelling affordable price points. This camera with hybrid capabilities including IP and analog output allows for integrating with existing analog systems today while providing a smooth transition to HD video over IP tomorrow,” stated Doug Means, Senior VP & GM of CohuHD Costar.

The 4220HD performs where other cameras fail, in conditions with shock and vibration, smog, fog, low-light, long-range, and temperature up to 74°C. The rugged sealed and nitrogen-pressurized IP68 construction protects against extreme adverse conditions to provide security and monitoring with the highest video image quality available at an unbeatable price point.

CohuHD Costar’s real-time defog & dehaze analytics automatically enhance scenes obscured by haze and foggy conditions commonly encountered in surveillance and traffic monitoring applications. The feature analyzes each pixel and filters out fog and haze to deliver an improved image. Advanced image processing capabilities filter out movements of the camera using an Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) algorithm.

The 4220HD CCTV camera Dome positioner offers three times the low-light sensitivity of most HD cameras. True day/night technology using a removable IR cut filter produces exceptional sensitivity down to 0.00025 fc.

The high optical zoom magnification of 30x combined with 1080p resolution and image analytics delivers over than three times the viewing distance of conventional cameras, resulting in dramatically improved imaging performance to see and identify objects at long-range.

The 4220HD ruggedized design operates in harsh weather, with its nitrogen-pressurized IP68 enclosure. This eliminates intrusion of water, pollutants and corrosives. The 4220HD is designed to deliver years of clean, reliable images, and is backed by a three-year limited warranty along with a lifetime warranty of any water intrusion.

The 4220HD Dome camera system provides seamless integration with third party Video Management Systems (VMS). RISE series conform to the ONVIF Profile S and NTCIP 1205 interoperability and configuration interface specs.

The 4220HD includes the RISE functionality of electronic image stabilization (EIS), defog, day/night and IP68 sealed and nitrogen-pressurized construction which allows it to operate in the most extreme critical infrastructure environments around the globe.

The 4220HD IP68 sealed and nitrogen-pressurized PTZ video surveillance camera is immediately available for order.
