New organization seeks to promote best practices in protective security industry

MIAMI, FLORIDA (PRWEB) APRIL 27, 2016

The International Protective Security Board (IPSB) has been created to advance and professionalize the protective security industry. As an independent industry organization, it is the Board’s mission to promote the interests and best practices of close protection professionals, training & education vendors, and service providers across private and public sectors worldwide.

“The close protection industry is evolving quickly”, says Filippo Marino, an experienced protective security professional who is the International Protective Security Board’s first president. “It is becoming increasingly specialized, more global and more professional. We intend to support and strengthen these positive developments with the International Protective Security Board, so the industry will continue to evolve in the direction of higher standards.”

The protective security industry serves a wide range of clients in many different sectors, and the International Protective Security Board represents the interests of those involved in all of the below:

Executive/Corporate

High-Threat/Protective Service Details

Faith-Based Organizations

High Net-Worth/Estate

Celebrity/Entertainment

Government/Dignitary

The International Protective Security Board will hold its inaugural conference in Las Vegas on December 2-3, 2016.

“The industry is growing rapidly, and there is a critical need to educate clients, develop qualified professionals and demonstrate clear return on investment”, explains Marino. “The days when your background alone qualified you as a close protection agent are long gone, and so are narrow attack-prevention objectives. There is a bright future for the profession, and it rests squarely on our ability to provide measurable value-add, specialization and adaptability. We believe the upcoming conference will be one of the most important events of the year for all of those interested in close protection, including practitioners, training academies, principal organizations and job candidates.”

The IPSB conference will be an important international event in the evolution of the fragmented and burgeoning close protection industry. For the first time, stakeholders from all of the protective security industry’s many sectors will gather under the same roof.

The conference will showcase best practices from across all industry sectors, and IPSB organizers are convinced that it will elevate the understanding of the true value of the protective security industry – from both the client and practitioner perspectives. The conference is also ideal for individuals with military or law enforcement backgrounds who are interested in transitioning into the industry.

The International Protective Security Board is an independent, cross-functional, nonprofit organization devoted to elevating protection professionals' interests and standards. For more information, please contact [email protected] or go to ipsboard.org.
