The best cybersecurity jobs in one place, with one click
November 17, 2015 — 17 months after successfully launching its first virtual career fair, the SANS CyberTalent Fair (SCTF) is back and poised to launch its fourth online nationwide cybersecurity job fair. The daylong event will take place this Thursday, November 19th, and is an innovative virtual meeting place for the top cybersecurity employers and jobseekers in the U.S.
Past events have seen a combined 8,200+ total jobseeker registrants and 34 unique participating employers, in an effort to address a pressing challenge facing both the public and private sector that continues to threaten our national security: the understaffed information security teams across the U.S.
Some 209,000 cybersecurity jobs remain unfulfilled, and according to a PBS report earlier this year, and job postings for the profession are up 74%. This is where the SANS CyberTalent Fair steps in, to provide top cybersecurity organizations with qualified, motivated, and experienced candidates in a dynamic virtual environment.
Past participants in the SANS CyberTalent Fair have expressed strong support for the program. The event not only provides employers with a pipeline of young talent but often times experienced, and highly qualified candidates ready to fill high level roles. “Our participation with the SANS CyberTalent Fairs have provided us with unique access to a highly desirable candidate pool. Additionally, we have found the quality of the candidates to rate very high in knowledge, skills and experience,” said Arlin Halstead, Director of Human Resources for Solutionary.
Scheduled for November 19, SCTF will feature jobseekers with experience and talent ready to engage companies and help address their cybersecurity needs.
The event will allow jobseekers to engage with a diverse set of employers across various economic sectors such as Booz Allen Hamilton, L-3 National Security Solutions, Solutionary, the INSCOM 780th MI Cyber Brigade, UnitedHealth Group, Protiviti, QVC, Stroz Friedberg, Susquehanna International Group, UPS Information Services, Sage Data Security, Homeland Security Consultants, American Transmission Co. Juniper, and more. SCTF includes a number of interactive features in company virtual “booths”, such as job listings and one-on-one chats.
Additionally, each job candidate is given the option to stand out by taking the SANS Cyber Talent Test (CTT) at no cost, which measures their skills across a variety of information security domains such as application security, digital forensics, penetration testing, and cyber defense.
