Alexandria, VA – ASIS International (ASIS) will honor New York City Police Commissioner William J. Bratton with its 2015 Person of the Year Award at a luncheon at noon on Thursday, April 23 in New York City. The annual awards luncheon is part of the 25th New York City Security Conference & Expo, hosted by the ASIS NYC Chapter. The largest regional conference for security and law enforcement professionals will take place April 22-23, 2015 at the Jacob K. Javits Center. More than 2,500 security practitioners, corporate decision-makers, and law enforcement personnel from Maine to Florida and across the nation are expected to attend.
“Under Commissioner Bratton’s command, New York City realized a historic reduction in crime. He is unwavering in his commitment to provide a safe and secure environment in which people can live and businesses can thrive,” remarked Craig M. Schwab, CPP, chair, ASIS New York City Chapter. “Commissioner Bratton possesses an unparalleled combination of leadership and interpersonal skills that have enabled him to inspire positive change within our diverse communities. Through his words and actions, he has demonstrated an acute understanding of the value of such private-public partnerships and therefore, it is our honor to commend his accomplishments and extend our appreciation with this year’s Person of the Year award.”
A U.S. Army veteran and decorated, career law officer, Commissioner Bratton is the only person to ever lead the police agencies of the nation’s two largest cities – New York City and Los Angeles.
