Government Security News has announced that its 2014 Airport, Seaport and Border Security Awards is officially open for nominations at www.asbsecurityawards.com.

The program, which includes many new categories not previously offered in homeland security awards programs, was created to recognize and salute outstanding vendors of technology solutions, as well as the professional security teams and government officials, whose combined efforts and public-private partnership maintain security at the nation’s airports, seaports and borders.

According to GSN managing partner Adrian Courtenay, the 2014 program includes 39 awards categories in nine broad groups, which include:

  • A single final award for Most Notable Security Program, Project or Overall Security Upgrade in each of the three interrelated markets of Airport, Seaport and Border Security.

Technology solutions categories range from Biometric ID Management, Cargo Screening and CBRNE Detection to Guard Services, Intrusion Detection Solutions, Perimeter Protection, PSIMs, Small Target Radar, ROVs, Thermal-Night Vision Cameras and Long Range and Waterside Surveillance, just to name a few.

The integrated security categories which security teams, airport and seaport authorities, federal, state and local law enforcement agencies and other government officials can enter include Best Cybersecurity Insider Threat Monitoring and Information Security, Best Geographic Information Service, Best CNS/ATM System of Communications, Navigation, Surveillance and Air Traffic Control, Best Physical Security Information Management (PSIM) and Best Integrated Harbor Security Program. The two awards for Human Resource Development include Best Higher Education Resource and Best Airport/Seaport/Border Security Training and/or Certification Program.

The closing date for awards nominations will be Thursday, May 1; Finalists will be announced on May 8 and a Gala Awards Dinner will be held aboard the luxury motor yacht Mariner III berthed at Chelsea Piers in New York Harbor. In the event of an overflow turnout for the awards dinner that cannot be handled by the Mariner III, Courtenay pointed out, the larger and also classic vessel Aqua Arul will host the cruise around New York Harbor in the afternoon and evening of June 9.

Courtenay expressed his thanks to Ralston MacDonnell, CEO of MacDonnell Consulting, the prominent maritime and municipal engineering firm of Halifax, Nova Scotia and proprietor of several Port Security Operations Conferences and Expositions in the U.S. and Canada, and Janice Kephart, Founder and CEO of the Secure Identity and Biometrics Association (SIBA), both of whom provided invaluable assistance in developing the Airport, Seaport and Border Security Awards Program, and both of whom will serve as Judges in the 2014 Program.nike air max tempo nike air max 95 rainbow 90 air max shoes 95 air max cheap green nike air max
