Xerox exec Chuck Brooks to discuss global cybersecurity threats at MIT Forum in Moscow
Chuck Brooks, the well-known discussion leader of homeland security topics on LinkedIn, has accepted an invitation to participate as a presenter at the MIT Technology Review/Innovations Forum in Moscow, which will take place from October 31 to November 2.
Brooks is also vice president for Xerox and client executive for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
The panel discussion in which Brooks will participate is titled, Cyber Security: Big Threats of Global World, and will deal with the billions of dollars that are lost each year due to cyberattacks, at the same time that all economic sectors are increasingly dependent on information and communications technologies.
According to a press release issued by the Open Invitations Forum, analysts expect that billions of new devices will be connected to telecommunication networks, making it imperative that fundamentally new principles and strategies of protection must be developed.
The cybersecurity panel is expected to address how many people become more vulnerable in the new wired world, what kinds of technological protections exist, whether there are any alternatives to traditional anti-virus software and what cybersecurity strategy is the most suitable for Russia.
The panel will be moderated by Natalya Kaspersky, CEO, InfoWatch Group of Companies and Co-founder, Kaspersky Lab, and will also include Mikko Hyppönen, CRO, F-Secure; Vasil Latsanich, marketing vice president of JSC Mobile TeleSystems; and Mircea Mihaescu, director of Sberbank IT Strategy Division.
Founded at MIT in 1899, the MIT Technology Review derives its authority from the world’s foremost technology institution, according to the press release, and from editors’ deep technical knowledge, economic realism and access to the world’s preeminent innovators.
The Forum for Innovations operates forums and exhibitions, scientific and award ceremonies which promote and popularize achievements of different branches of science and industry. The flagship product of the company is the Moscow International Forum for Innovative Development.
