TSA wants a firm to supply it twice a week with complete airline flight data
TSA has issued a solicitation to prospective vendors who can supply complete airline industry flight data -- including airline names, flight numbers, itinerary variations, identifiers, times of flight sectors and many other data elements -- on a twice-a-week basis.
The flight data will be provided for all commercial U.S. passenger airline flights originating in or terminating in the U.S. and U.S. territories. In addition, Help Desk support shall be provided for flight data questions, and will be available on a 24x7x365 basis, says a solicitation issued by the agency on Oct. 23.
Delivery of the data will be made via the vendor’s Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) site. The U.S. Government will have access to this site and must be able to download these data files, says the TSA notice.
TSA anticipates awarding a firm fixed price contract for one base year (with service beginning on December 14, 2012), plus four optional years.
Potential vendors are expected to submit a sample complete data set in the format requested on a CD or DVD by November 21.
