Volpe National Transportation Systems Center looks to QinetiQ North America for cyber security services

QinetiQ North America (QNA) announced on May 30 that it has been awarded a new task order by the Volpe National Transportation Systems Center to provide cyber security services to protect the nation's transportation and control systems and critical infrastructure.

This $4.7 million task order is the first cyber security task order issued under the Volpe's V-TRIPS contract.
The Volpe Center, part of the U.S. Department of Transportation's Research and Innovative Technology Administration, works with federal, state, local and international agencies to assess, research, develop and deploy transportation technologies, and to support policy and decision-making.

Under the new task order, QNA's analysts and engineers will address cyber security requirements, evaluate cyber security tools and techniques, and develop standards for building a variety of secure systems. They will also define technological requirements for systems and controls and analyze potential cyber threats and risks to critical infrastructures.
"With this task order, we will be able to help our customer meet its mission by providing innovative services and expertise to help protect our country's critical transportation control systems," said John Sutton, executive vice president of QNA's mission and information solutions business unit. "We're honored to work with the Volpe Center as it moves forward with technologies and methodologies to define the future of the nation's transportation systems enterprise."
