Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission selects DVTel software

Ridgefield Park, NJ-based DVTel Inc., a specialist in security solutions over IP networks, reports that the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission (DRJTBC) has selected its intelligent Security Operations Center (iSOC) as the command and control software for the integrated surveillance and detection system that will provide early warning for the protection of DRJTBC assets.

The DRJTBC is a bi-state transportation agency that owns, operates and maintains 20 vehicular and pedestrian bridges along 140 miles of the Delaware River, between Pennsylvania and New Jersey. More than 140 million vehicles crossed those bridges in 2008, DVTel notes.

According to its statement, DVTel joins Mass Electric Construction Co., Siemens Industry and MATE to “design, furnish, construct, install, integrate and maintain a fully operational electronic surveillance and detection system.”

The system will include video surveillance, intelligent video, building access control, intrusion detection, a central control center, and communications systems for video and data transmissions.

The system will eventually comprise over 300 cameras and 50 access points, with all data monitored in two separate command centers, DVTel said.

Siemens serves as the project integrator and Mass Electric is the prime contractor for the overall project, according to the statement.
