Avinor Oslo Airport Expands its Qognify Security Solution With Situator

Qognify, the leader in big data solutions for physical security and operations, today announced that it has recently expanded its security solution at Gardermoen Oslo Airport with Situator, the company's market-leading situation management solution. Avinor, the group responsible for managing Norway's airports, decided to not only expand and upgrade Oslo Airport, but unify its different systems to create a unified security platform.
Extending to Situation Management

A Qognify video management solution user since 2008, the Airport, with the support of Racom, Qognify's partner, the airport now added Situator Situation Management solution. The comprehensive platform integrates all existing systems - Qognify and third-party, including thousands of surveillance cameras, access control and other sensors. Situator structures and correlates the information from these different systems for greater situational awareness, incident management and effective response.
Flexigate override support
Being a major European airport, Oslo serves many Schengen flights, meaning flights to the 26 European countries that have officially abolished passport and all other types of border control at their borders. Allowing the area to function as a single country for international travel purposes dictates special operational requirements using advanced Flexigate system. The Flexigate system avoids incidents where the wrong doors are opened to ensure that passengers who should go through the border control actually do so. Situator integrates with the advanced Flexigate access control system, and overrides switching of gates between Schengen and non-Schengen flights, as well as the domestic flights if the control systems are out of operations.
Avinor Oslo Airport: "Situator allows us to leverage our existing technology, and extend the capabilities of those systems for increased value. Our long-term partnership with Racom and Qognify has given us the ability to smartly and cost-effectively upgrade our security without having to rip & replace previous, viable investments."
"Adding Qognify Situator to the security and operations program at Oslo Airport has enabled us to confidently build true best-of-breed solution," said Frode Igland, CEO, Racom AS. "The new capabilities provide a common operating picture for all stakeholders, improving security and operations."
"Oslo Airport's security program is one of the most advanced ones among the many airports we are involved in," commented Moti Shabtai, Qognify's CEO & President. "Our partnership with Avinor and Racom is a testament to how deep, long-term collaboration can produce exceptional return on investment for the airport."

Dahua Technology USA Wins New Product of the Year

IRVINE, California, September 14, 2017 – Dahua Technology USA, a leading manufacturer of video surveillance solutions proven the world over, has been honored with a New Product of the Year award from Security Today for its 4K HDCVI fisheye camera.

Dahua’s 4K HDCVI fisheye is the first HD-over-coax fisheye with 4K (8MP) resolution. The camera combines three innovative technologies: fisheye, 4K, and HDCVI. Delivering a 360-degree hemispherical view, the fisheye provides broad coverage with no blind spots, as well as multiple dewarping modes to view individual elements separately. 4K resolution improves the clarity of a magnified scene to view or record crisp forensic video from a large field of view.

HDCVI provides high-definition and ultra-high-definition images over coaxial cable, at transmission distances of up to 300m (985.25 feet) over CAT6. In this way, users can maximize their investment in an analog infrastructure while enjoying the high-quality images and functionality typical to a network video surveillance system. HDCVI simultaneously transmits three signals (video, audio, and data) over a single coaxial cable, and dual-way data transmission allows the HDCVI camera to communicate with an HDCVI DVR to send control signals or to trigger alarms.

“The high performance and cost advantages of HDCVI have brought high-definition video surveillance to a vast set of budget-conscious end users who would have otherwise had to wait for an upgrade to IP,” stated Janet Fenner, head of marketing for Dahua USA. “We are thrilled to further serve the market with this fisheye addition to our 4K HDCVI line.”

Dahua will be presented with the New Product of the Year award at this year’s ASIS International Seminar and Exhibits. Ralph Jensen, editor-in-chief of Security Today, remarked on the cutting-edge technology of this year’s winners:

“The New Product of the Year contest gives us a terrific sampling of security solutions, but what is more amazing each year is the technical savvy that comes along with new products. New Product of the Year allows forward-thinking manufacturers to be able to share their vision of security.”

Visit Dahua in booth 4145 at the ASIS International Seminar and Exhibits in Dallas, Texas, September 26- 28, and see the 4K HDCVI fisheye along with other new and innovative products from Dahua.

BrainChip Studio Awarded New Product of the Year for Video Analytics by Security Today’s Panel of Independent Judges

AI-powered software is easily deployed in existing infrastructure, where it rapidly searches archived video or live streams to identify objects or faces

BrainChip Holdings Ltd. (ASX: BRN) ("BrainChip" or "the Company"), a leading developer of software and hardware accelerated solutions for advanced artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning applications, has won the Security Today’s New Product of the Year Award 2017 in the Video Analytics category for its BrainChip Studio software suite. The award honors the outstanding products considered to be particularly noteworthy in their ability to improve security. The trophy will be accepted by BrainChip during the ASIS International 63rd Annual Seminar and Exhibits, September 25th – 28th, Dallas, Texas.

BrainChip Studio aids law enforcement and intelligence agencies to search vast amounts of video footage many times faster than previously possible, enabling them to quickly identify patterns or faces. Most significantly, the software can be utilized with existing infrastructure.

The software suite simulates the spiking neural networks found in the human brain. It works with low-resolution video, even in noisy environments, and requires only a 24x24 pixel image to detect and classify faces and objects. Furthermore, BrainChip Studio can be trained on a single image in milliseconds and does not need the vast datasets, extended learning time or substantial compute power associated with other forms of video processing using artificial intelligence.

Now in its ninth year, Security Today’s New Product of the Year Award is selected at the sole discretion of an independent panel of judges from the security industry.

“At a time of heightened global security, BrainChip Studio meets the urgent need for a rapidly deployable object and facial search technology to tame the massive volume of video footage already created and in the making,” said Bob Beachler, BrainChip’s SVP of Marketing and Business Development. “We are extremely honored to receive the Security Today New Product of The Year Award, which validates the groundbreaking nature of BrainChip’s technology.”

BrainChip Studio software runs under Windows or Linux. It is compatible with all major video encoding formats and is available to select law enforcement and intelligence agencies. For more information on BrainChip Studio please visit: www.brainchipinc.com/products. To schedule a demonstration of BrainChip Studio at the ASIS conference, please visit: www.brainchipinc.com/contact.

GSN ASB Winner Profile: PureTech Systems

Beginning this July 17, GSN will publish detailed descriptions by Winners and Finalists of the reasons their entries were selected by the Judges; Don’t miss these in-depth descriptions , which will be available every day in the GSN Airport, Searport, Border Security Weekly; the Daily Insider and Cybersecurity Weekly newsletters!

We would like to nominate the PureTech Systems’ geospatial (map-based) video management command and control, combined with the PureActiv® long range patented video analytics for the GSN Border Security and Immigration“Best Long Range Surveillance Solution” award.

The solution has been selected, deployed, thoroughly tested and fully accepted through a rigorous multi-year process by the Department of Homeland Security’s Custom’s and Border Protection to provide long range border surveillance along the southern border of the United States and Mexico. It is now being considered by the CBP for its mobile deployment solution along the same border.

Most Video Management Systems manage cameras that extend to a few hundred yards at most. As such, the capabilities of the user interface reflect this relatively short distance. However, for border situation, cameras must utilize higher resolutions and larger lenses, and the VMS must include additional technologies to manage these greater distances and larger view volumes. In addition to its capability as a robust VMS system with video analytics, for border applications, several capabilities set it apart from other solutions:

a. Detection and Classification – The ability to detect and classify IOIs (Items of Interest) at extreme ranges and under difficult environmental conditions sets the PureActiv analytics part from others. The ability to not only accurately detect, but also track actual map locations (latitude, longitude and elevation) of IOIs in real time, using only video, provides the CBP officers critical information to monitor and apprehend targets.

b.Advanced camera control algorithms. Providing the user the ability to control a camera with precision at zoom ranges of 5 miles and beyond. This includes pointing accuracies of a few meters at extreme ranges. This feature also extends to camera auto follow, which locks onto the video image of the target and automatically controls the camera to retain lock, allowing the operator to take other response actions.

c.Map-Based sensor control. Manually steering a camera to a target at a range of 5 miles is an almost insurmountable task. The PureActiv map based control, allows a user to steer a camera to a specific map location by clicking on a map, by receiving coordinates from another sensor system or by manually entering target information given by a field officer.

d. The ability to add user landmarks. This provides the ability to direct responders to a geo-location and quicklyre-aim cameras to a location of interest, which can be time consuming when securing a vast area such as a country’s border.

e. Viewshed capability: As viewing distances become greater, more potential obstructions and terrain can block thecamera’s view. Having a map-based visual guide to indicate what the camera can view, and what the camera cannot view, based on these obstructions, can save valuable time in selecting the proper viewing camera.

Qognify, Bosch expand integration agreement

Spielberger

PEARL RIVER, NY jULY 10, 2017  Qognify, the leader in big data solutions for physical security and operations, today announced that it has expanded the integration of Bosch network video security cameras and Qognify’s Situator and VisionHub, providing customers unique advanced technology and business benefits. This best-of-breed solution creates centralized management for the entire platform with direct integration of Bosch cameras to Situator (Situation Management / PSIM) and VisionHub (Video Management System).

The integration enhances security management and operational benefits by leveraging situation management, video and visualization capabilities:

 ·         Centralized control and management through Situator– direct integration between Bosch’s network video security cameras and Situator.  The integration enables PTZ and PTZ-like control for moving and fixed cameras, automatic triggering of processes when predefined incidents occur based on pre-defined alarm rules using camera built-in video analytics, playback via local camera storage and camera tampering detection.

 ·         Advanced video management capabilities via Qognify VisionHub, including:

  • Dewarping – the advanced integration of Bosch’s FLEXIDOME IP panoramic 7000 camera and Qognify’s VMS, eliminates the fish eye lens distortion, enabling 360° of view, without blind spots, with an undistorted overview image. Additionally, the PTZ-like control of the video, lets customers digitally pan-tilt-zoom to focus on details without losing the bigger picture. This advance support of dewarping means empowering the benefit from wide coverage using a single device, while having a "normal" view of an otherwise distorted or reversed image.

Qognify records the original camera stream and de-warps the video for viewing purposes, enabling each operator a unique view.

  • Reduced storage and network bandwidth with VisionHub – Bosch Intelligent Dynamic Noise Reduction, a feature that optimizes storage capacity and reduces network strain by using bandwidth only when needed. By intelligently distinguishing between noise and relevant information Intelligent Dynamic Noise Reduction reduces the camera’s bitrate by up to 50% substantially contributing to a lower Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
  • Network optimization – overcoming network overload during working hours by automated, scheduled transfer from the camera onboard storage to the center.
  • Zero-loss-of-data – automatic filling of missing recording data on the SVR by restoring missing video from the camera onboard storage.
  • Video Analytics at the Edge – Qognify’s VisionHub integrates with Bosch’s Essential Video Analytics or Intelligent Video Analytics which runs on the camera. This enables delivering of video analytics alarms based on pre-definable alarm rules from the camera to VisionHub and Situator. In addition, the integration supports the Qognify video analytics suite running centrally on the recorder, combining Bosch built-in (edge) video analytics with Qognify’s server-based video analytics, offering customers maximum flexibility when designing a video analytics solution.

“When mission-critical solutions are involved, it is essential that stringent quality checks are taken. Qognify’s solutions were tested to excel in multiple integrations” said Rudolf Spielberger, Head of the Integration Partner Program at Bosch Security Systems.  “Our strategic cooperation with Qognify is substantially enhancing the levels of security and delivering clear and quantifiable business advantages to our customers.”

The certified integration is already in use at customers’ sites. “We are committed to advancing integration with leading technology partners and are proud of our integration with Bosch to yield a complete, tested and field-proven solution,” said Eran Noam, VP Global Strategic Partnerships of Qognify. “It’s important that organizations have confidence in integrations so they can leverage the broad range of excellent, integrated products in today’s security marketplace”.
