Upgraded SentiVeillance solution reduces time for successful facial recognition

Namajunas

VILNIUS, Lithuania, March 21, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Neurotechnology, a provider of high-precision biometric identification and object recognition technologies, today announced the release of the SentiVeillance 6.0 software development kit (SDK), which provides improved facial recognition using up to 10 surveillance, security and public safety cameras on a single computer. The new version uses deep neural-network-based facial detection and recognition algorithms to improve accuracy, and it utilizes a Graphing Processing Unit (GPU) for enhanced speed. Also, now users can more quickly and easily adjust the tradeoff between speed and accuracy as needed for different applications.

"We developed SentiVeillance 6.0 as a self-adapting system based on deep neural networks that were trained on a larger quantity of data," said Ignas Namajunas, surveillance technologies research lead for Neurotechnology. "This ensures better generalization for a variety of conditions. Additionally, by making use of the GPU processing capabilities, we were able to improve the processing speed significantly."

Because SentiVeillance 6.0 can process information from up to 10 surveillance cameras with one GPU, it provides faster, easier, more accurate identification of faces against watch lists, making it suitable for a wide range of surveillance applications.

As with previous versions, the new SentiVeillance also provides real-time moving object detection; tracking and classification for pedestrians, vehicles and other predefined object classes based on size and speed of movement; and area control that triggers "events" when people or objects enter, leave or stay in restricted areas.

The SentiVeillance 6.0 SDK is available through Neurotechnology or from distributors worldwide. For more information and trial version, go to: www.neurotechnology.com. As with all Neurotechnology products, the latest version is available as a free upgrade to existing SentiVeillance customers.

About Neurotechnology

Tyco Security unveils newest version of security and event management platform

WESTFORD, MA March 16, 2017 Tyco Security Products, part of Johnson Controls, introduces the newest version of its C•CURE 9000 security and event management platform that offers new functionalities for enhanced compliance controls and increased operational efficiency.

C•CURE 9000 v2.60 offers advanced access control policy enforcement and customization, after-hours reader groups, expiring clearances and other notable features, as well as increased operational efficiency. This latest version of the C•CURE 9000 security and event management platform also supports IPV6 address protocols for the iSTAR Ultra door controller and introduces a new C•CURE 9000 Web Client user interface.

The usability enhancements to the C•CURE 9000 v2.60 platform give end users the power to configure the platform to create a new event after a number of consecutive rejections. With this feature, end users can define the threshold for event creation by configuring the number of consecutive retries allowed within a given time period.

The platform's after-hours reader groups allow security officers to funnel access through a central entry point, for example when disabling all but a single, central entry point in an office building after 5 p.m. Once the cardholder has passed through the central entry point and has been visually identified by the security officer, the cardholder can access specific areas within the building according to his/her access privileges, ensuring that only those with special clearances gain access to specific areas after normal hours.

“The newest version of the C•CURE 9000 includes features that are invaluable to airports, government buildings and other large-scale facilities because they automate processes, and provide process and procedure accountability for meeting compliance standards,” said Jason Ouellette, Global Product Line Director, Access Control, Tyco Security Products. “The v2.60 release can also improve operational efficiency by moving administrative tasks, such as adding new card holders, to specific individuals who can use their mobile devices to access the system.”

Expiring clearances allow end users to assign clearances with expiration dates to individuals for multiple doors/readers, while random screening automates screening selection for airports and other high security areas. Additionally, the two-person and team rule for entry occupancy feature, which is ideal for R&D and government facilities, restricts access to sensitive areas to specific combinations of card holders. And, local time zone awareness for monitoring and reporting.

Included in the latest version of C•CURE 9000 is a new version of the C•CURE 9000 Web Client that provides remote access to C•CURE 9000 directly from a computer with an Internet browser. The new web client is based on the RESTful protocol and true web services, and includes a new look GUI and new installation process.

Hikvision announces technology partnership with cloud-based video surveillance provider

Jeffrey He

CITY OF INDUSTRY, CA and AUSTIN, TX March 15, 2017 Hikvision USA Inc., the North American leader in innovative, award-winning video surveillance products and solutions, and Eagle Eye Networks, Inc., the leading cloud-based video surveillance provider, today announced a technology partnership to deliver customers a seamless and cybersecure cloud video surveillance solution.

Hikvision and Eagle Eye are expanding an established business relationship with its new technology partnership. It will enable a deeper bi-directional integration between Hikvision’s world class products and Eagle Eye’s purpose-built cloud platform, which will have significant, direct benefits for systems integrators. Those benefits include ease of installation and even more extensive technical support. Integrators and their end user customers will also reap the benefits associated with cloud platforms: lower up-front costs, flexibility, scalability, cyber-secure remote management and flexible on-premise cloud storage.

“We are pleased to be working with a partner so clearly focused on cybersecurity and ease of use for our integrator partners,” said Jeffrey He, president of Hikvision USA Inc. “Eagle Eye’s Cloud Security Camera VMS provides businesses with a true cloud solution that is cyber-secured with multiple levels of encryption and advanced security features."

Those features include Eagle Eye’s recently announced Camera Cyber Lockdown, which blocks cameras from communicating with the Internet, blocks attacks from reaching cameras, and will not allow any Trojans ex-filtration. The feature greatly increases the security of video surveillance systems, reduces risk, and reduces camera maintenance.

While the Eagle Eye Cloud Security Camera VMS works with hundreds of manufacturers’ cameras, the Hikvision partnership is particularly valuable for customers who don’t have in-house IT resources. The combined Hikvision/Eagle Eye technology is particularly well suited to multi-site enterprises with small camera counts at each site, including retail, banking, and quick serve restaurants.

Eagle Eye Network’s CEO Dean Drako stated “Hikvision’s leadership team has been exemplary to work with for making a great customer solution. They really understand the benefits of solving installation and cyber problems in a way that makes it easier for the customer. Hikvision's global presence aligns with Eagle Eye's global data center investment."

Eagle Eye Networks’ global footprint of data centers enables its customers to easily deploy surveillance video systems at their sites around the world while maintaining consistency and cybersecurity.

Hikvision will exhibit its enterprise-level security solutions at ISC West, Booth 18037, in Las Vegas, April 5-7, 2017. Eagle Eye Networks will be exhibiting in Booth 23109.
