School emergency safety grant program deadline extended

Cincinnati, OH, July 28 – Response Technologies Ltd., the manufacturer and distributor of the Centurion® duress and emergency notification system, has extended the application deadline for its inaugural emergency safety grant program for eligible K-12 public schools in the U.S, to August 31, 2015. Applications are accepted online only at http://response-technologies.com.

The Centurion® duress and emergency notification system allows users to activate the system in a multitude of ways. Once activated, the Centurion® will send out a location-specific notification to immediately alert first responders and essential personnel of the situation as it is occurring.  “We understand that some school districts do not have the budget allocation for security upgrades or improvements, so that’s why we created this program”, said Andy Morrison, President, Response Technologies Ltd.  The value of the system ranges between $12,000 and $18,000 depending on the size of the district and includes installation at no charge, with professional training for select school staff.

Eligibility and Deadlines

All K-12 public school districts located in the continental U.S. and qualified by that state’s Department of Education, are eligible.  All schools within the district must use the same IT network.  Selection will be based on application details such as: current security measures in place, future plans for security enhancements, number of buildings within the district, student population and cooperation from local law enforcement.

Any interested school districts should go to http://response-technologies.com and click on “News” to apply; applications are due by August 31, 2015.  The selected school district will be announced on or about September 21, 2015.  Installation will be scheduled by the end of 2015, pending coordination with school district and local law enforcement. The grant program will be conducted annually moving forward.
