Thales partners with Guidance Software to deliver critical incident response and digital investigations to UK
Pasadena, CA-based Guidance Software, which provides digital investigations, has announced a partnership with Thales to deliver a full range of endpoint security and incident response products and services to the UK market. EnCase products extend the Thales portfolio to identify threats that would otherwise go unnoticed, and to quickly perform incident response and recovery.
Thales UK is a recognized world leader in the design and supply of critical systems and resilient solutions that help governments, local authorities and civil operators protect citizens, sensitive data and infrastructure against complex threats. The company is trusted to safeguard critical national infrastructure including utilities, nuclear electric facilities, ground transportation and air traffic management, as well as to protect companies’ sensitive information: they are at the heart of the strategy raising the cyber defense posture in the UK’s Ministry of Defense supply chain.
EnCase security products are critical to Thales’ new “Critical 48,” a 24/7 cyber incident response service. EnCase is a provider of digital investigations for security and incident response, enabling companies to quickly identify and mitigate security compromises, conduct internal investigations, and locate errant sensitive data across all endpoints including laptops and servers.
“Combining the market-leading products and services of Thales with Guidance Software enables us to offer organizations in the UK a complete, best-of-breed managed security service,” said Peter Armstrong, director Cyber Security Sector, Thales UK. “This partnership equips Thales to complement its existing cybersecurity threat detection and assessment offerings with critical incident response capabilities. We can now answer at pace our critical customers’ questions: was the attack successful, was sensitive data compromised, how did they get in, and how do I fix it?”
According to a recent SANS Institute survey sponsored by Guidance Software, nearly half of all organizations are operating under the assumption that they have been compromised. Working together, Thales and Guidance Software help organizations quickly respond to attacks within the first hours and days of a breach to contain the damage and collect evidence about the attack. Armed with EnCase products, Thales’ trained cyber specialists have the ability to effectively respond to any cyber emergency within hours.
“Our partnership with Thales enables us to combine the power of the EnCase products with the expertise of the Thales professionals to immediately address serious cybersecurity challenges faced by our mutual customers throughout the UK,” said Alex Andrianopoulos, vice president of Marketing for Guidance Software. “The Thales partnership accelerates the delivery of critical tools for the defense of corporations confronted with almost constant attacks wrought by highly effective attackers.”
Guidance Software’s EnCase Enterprise platform, deployed on an estimated 20 million endpoints, is used by more than 70 percent of the Fortune 100 and more than 45 percent of the Fortune 500, and numerous government agencies, to conduct digital investigations of servers, laptops, desktops and mobile devices, the company says. Built on the EnCase Enterprise platform are the cyber security and electronic discovery solutions EnCase Cybersecurity, EnCase Analytics, and EnCase eDiscovery.
