Charles Brooks, Linkedin Homeland Security discussion leader, to present June 26 webinar on evolving DHS role in Strategic Cyber Operations
Former judge of GSN Awards program and well-known leader of Linkedin discussion groups Charles Brooks has announced that he will present a webinar on the evolving role of Strategic Cyber Operations at the DHS under the department’s last four Secretaries. The webinar will be presented in collaboration with George Washington University and will take place on Thursday, June 26 from 12:30 to 1:30 PM EST.
Specifically, DHS’s structure and institutional role will be discussed in the context of policy/enforcement issues and the public/private partnership in securing cyber space. Also, current legislation and policy initiatives impacting the evolving role of DHS will be highlighted.
Charles Brooks serves as vice president/client executive for DHS at Xerox. He recently served as vice president for R&D at Rapiscan Systems specializing in CBRNE sensor technologies. Mr. Brooks served as the vice president for Government Affairs at SRA International Inc., where he was part of Executive Leadership reporting directly to the CEO. He also served as the first director of legislative affairs for the Science & Technology Directorate within the DHS, where he was responsible for advocacy for the Directorate with Capitol Hill. Mr. Brooks has an MA in International Relations from the University of Chicago and a BA in Political Science from DePauw University and a Certificate in International Law from the Hague Academy of International Law.
