DHS hires Paragon Systems to guard its headquarters on Nebraska Ave. in DC

The Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Protective Service on May 17 awarded a $51.3 million contract to Paragon Systems, Inc., of Chantilly, VA, to provide security guards and other protective services at DHS headquarters on Nebraska Avenue in Washington, DC.

Under this fixed-price, indefinite quantity, indefinite delivery (IDIQ) award, Paragon will be expected to provide all management supervision, manpower, training, equipment, supplies, licenses, permits, pre-employment screening, reports and other necessities.

DHS headquarters is currently located in a set of buildings known as the Nebraska Avenue Complex, whose address is 3801 Nebraska Avenue, Washington, DC 20016-2705.

The multi-million contract was issued by the Federal Protective Service’s office of procurement operations, which is located in Philadelphia.

Back in 2006, Paragon received an earlier contract to provide guard services at DHS headquarters.

Paragon Systems, Inc. is a subsidiary of Pinkerton’s Government Services, Inc., which falls within the Securitas Group. Paragon recently announced it has agreed to acquire the security services company Security Consultants Group, Inc. With this acquisition, Securitas expands in the primary government security services market in the U.S.
