ASIS 2011: Bud Broomhead, CEO of Intransa

The business of Intransa, says CEO Bud Broomhead, is the Infrastructure business – in which Intransa provides compute, networking and storage infrastructure upon which video surveillance, video analytics, access control and physical security information management systems run. Although the traditional technology for CCTV has been analog-based products,  the big shift today is to IP based products that are more scalable and economical and can leverage existing Internet departments. In other words, the application of video surveillance is just like the IP applications for finance or engineering in the eyes of the IT department. Broomhead says the company has built useful relationships with integrators and IT people, and on the technology side, it has provided technology that identifies technical challenges unique to video management. Intransa won the Product of the Year award at the 2010 ISC West Show and has just won the 2011 Product of the Year Award from Security Products magazine in the category of Cloud Computing for Video, for helping government entities to deploy their video networks within their own private cloud.
