GSN announces finalists in 2010 Awards Competition
![]() |
Government Security News has announced the finalists and, in some cases, preemptive winners in 45 different categories in GSN’s 2010 Homeland Security Awards Program.
All 45 winner’s trophies will be presented at a gala dinner on the evening of November 8 in Washington, DC, where four star General Barry McCaffrey will receive the GSN 2010 Homeland Security Extraordinary Leadership and Service Award and deliver the keynote speech.
According to Adrian Courtenay, Chairman of World Business Media, LLC, the most hotly contested categories in the 2010 Awards program were, respectively, “Most Effective Federal Government Security Program, Project or Initiative”(government entries); “Best Security Incident and Event Management (SIEM)” (vendors of IT Security solutions); and “Best Perimeter Protection Product/System” (vendors of physical security solutions).
“The initiatives described in the entries from federal, state and local government agencies were perfectly targeted in addressing our vulnerabilities,” said Courtenay, “and the entries from the vendors of IT and physical security products were dazzling in their technological brilliance, reflecting the great public-private partnership that keeps our homeland safe and secure.”
Courtenay also thanked the generous Sponsors of the 2010 Awards, who are enabling Government Security News to salute the year’s top-performing government agencies and officials and the cutting edge vendor companies in IT and Physical Security. The roster of 2010 Sponsors includes:
ArcSight, BIG Enterprises, Desktop Alert, General Dynamics C4, Karsof Systems, Mutualink and Tipping Point Security.
Parties interested in attending the Awards Dinner and Presentations on November 8 can get further information on the Awards Ceremony page of the Government Security News Website.
