ATG Access Inc., based in Lillington, NC, has announced that it has acquired the vehicle barrier and gate division of the Canadian group Allen-Vanguard Corp. ATG Access engineers and produces high impact vehicle security barriers (HIVB), traffic bollard systems and manual bollard ram raid deterrent bollards which can be seen in situ in most major cities and venues globally.
“This acquisition forms another part of the strategic development of ATG Access’s business, and in particular, international presence,” said ATG Access’s President Glenn Cooper. “Our products and services are in great demand in the European, Gulf, Americas and Asian markets, this acquisition will increase our growth in North America and its influenced markets.”
The acquisition continues the development of ATG Access’s business globally, coming on the back of the formation of ATG Access Inc. by its holding company, CoBaCo, after the acquisition of the vehicle barrier division of Boon Edam, Inc. in the U.S. in 2008, and more recently an agreement between Edgar Allan and ATG Access for a range of specialist cast manganese bollards, specifically for HIVB needs in architecturally challenging areas.
The anti-terror and ram-raid deterrent bollard systems are designed to withstand the force of a heavy goods truck driving at 50 miles per hour.
“This acquisition comes on the back of a strong two years performance since the acquisition by ATG Access Inc. and sends a clear message of the stakeholders’ determination and commitment to success in North America,” said ATG Access’s CEO Ray Barnett. “Over the coming weeks, we will fully transition the business from Canada into our Lillington, NC, facility.”
