By Steve SpatigWith reports of widespread data breaches in the global spotlight, data center managers are under increasing pressure by regulatory bodies to ensure that access to restricted information is protected. Cyber security remains a number one priority, but in many cases, data breaches occur because an employee is given temporary physical access to that data in some way. Within the data center environment, preventing unauthorized physical access to sensitive government data is crucial.

According to Bobby Brown, VP for Homeland Security, Telephonics business units include a Maritime Surveillance unit, a Communications unit and an Integrated Surveillance Group, which produces a ground-based Advanced Radar System (ARSS), with 1,600 systems deployed globally.  In recent years, Telephonics has collaborated with Customs and Border Protection to develop a package called the Mobile Surveillance System (MSS) that includes ground radar, pan-tilt cameras and a C2 system, with 44 systems presently in CBP’s inventory.
