People: FBI terrorism-financing expert joins IPSA

San Diego, CA-based PepperBall Technologies, Inc., has named Conrad Sun chief operating officer. Sun joins the company from MicroVision Optical, also a San Diego company, where he also served as COO. Pepperball is a provider of system launchers and projectiles for a variety of what the company characterizes as "less-lethal" applications. It supplies such as agencies as the Federal Bureau of Prisons and the U.S. Border Patrol, as well as police and sheriff departments around the country. Conrad’s first initiatives will focus on the new handheld SA-4, a less-lethal four-shot pistol that delivers twice the kinetic force of PepperBall standard rounds.
Germantown, MD-based Hughes Network Systems, the broadband-satellite solutions and services provider, has named Joseph Visinski senior director for the company’s Defense and Intelligence Systems division (DISD). Visinski will be responsible for maintaining existing relationships with the division’s customers and partners, as well as growing its defense and intelligence market presence. He most recently served as director of business development for MILSATCOM systems at New York-based L-3 Communications.
