People: Vice Adm. Moran joins Unitech simulation team

Unitech, the Centerville, VA-based provider of homeland security-related training and technology solutions, announced the appointment of Vice Adm. Kevin Moran (USN-Ret.) to its board of directors. During his 30-year Navy career, Moran established himself as a leader in training and education. He will help Unitech develop its training and simulation strategy.











Alion Science and Technology, of McLean, VA, has hired Dr. Charles Massey as its director of port and maritime security, leading the company’s efforts to create a security solution for domestic and international ports.



Former Kansas City Police Chief Vincent Ortega has been hired by GE Security, the security and life safety technologies giant, to serve as the national security specialist on GE’s team of law enforcement domain experts. Ortega will provide strategic counsel on evolving security issues facing both private and government organizations.



Angel Rodriguez, a former homeland security equipment sales representative of Pittsburgh-based Fisher Scientific International, has been charged by the Justice Department with conspiracy to defraud Fisher while pocketing secret commissions from two other equipment vendors to facilitate the sale of emergency vehicles and explosive ordinance detection equipment in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
