Corporate News: SAIC-VA extend small business procurement agreement

Science Applications International Corp. and the Department of Veterans Affairs Center for Veterans Enterprise (CVE) have extended their agreement under which SAIC furnishes technical assistance and procurement opportunities to veteran-owned small businesses through 2009. In the last fiscal year (2007), SAIC reported that 4.5 percent of its subcontract awards were issued to service-disabled veteran-owned businesses, significantly exceeding the government mandated 3 percent goal. In total, SAIC subcontracted $206 million to veteran-owned businesses. Overall, SAIC issued more than $1.2 billion in subcontract awards to small businesses for the same period.



MOBILE WIRELESS – Datalogic Mobile, of Eugene, OR, announced that all of its mobile computers that run the Microsoft Windows CE 5.0 and Windows Mobile operating systems have been certified for Cisco Compatible Extensions Version 4 (CCX V4) using a radio solution provided by Summit Data Communications. This is expected to enhance Datalogic’s market reach; Cisco products are present in nearly two-thirds of enterprise wireless LAN or Wi-Fi infrastructures.



DOCUMENT FRAUD – AllRegs, an online publisher of reference information for the residential mortgage lending industry, has teamed up with the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators (AAMVA), which knows quite a bit aboutr bogus drivers licenses, to offer fraudulent document recognition training to the mortgage lending industry. The prescribed curriculum includes an online course and a classroom requirement. The course could also be customized to meet government agency needs.
