Corporate News: Hirsch verification technology gets TSA approval

NUKE DETECTION PATENT - VeriTainer Corp. a leading provider of crane-mounted nuclear and radiological maritime security solutions, announced that it has been awarded international patent protections in Singapore, Taiwan and New Zealand. Singapore is the largest container port in the world; Taiwan is a very large trading partner with the U.S.; and New Zealand is an active trading nation on the Pacific Rim. The company is perhaps best known for its VeriSpreader crane-mounted passive radiation detection solution, which is seamlessly integrated into the hoist attachment of the cranes that handle all incoming and outgoing containers in a modern port facility.
TECHNICAL SUPPORT – Panda Security, of Glendale, CA, is now represented on the board of directors of TSANet (Technical Support Alliance Network), the non-profit organization which facilitates global cooperation between IT support organizations. Darragh Kelly, Panda’s technical training and certificate manager, will be the company’s representative on the board. Panda provides IT security solutions for clients in more than 200 countries.
BIOAGENT DETECTOR –Microfluidic Systems, of Fremont, CA, announced it has signed agreements with Applied Biosystems, of Foster City, CA, and the Hamilton Sunstrand subsidiary of United Technologies to continue development of its bioagent autonomous networked detector. The system is intended to improve detection of airborne pathogens that could contaminate the air in a city or large region. DHS has been funding the development of such systems for the last three years
IT SECURITY – ASIS International, the society for security management professionals, and the Security Executive Council, an international organization of public and private sector security executives, have formed a partnership to provide leadership tools and solutions to benefit members of both organizations and the security industry. As part of this collaboration, SEC books, presentations and research reports will now be available in the ASIS bookstore.
