Contracts: Army Engineers award $78 million contract for DHS infrastructure

The U.S. Army Engineer District, Tulsa, announced that it has issued a contract on behalf of the DHS Tactical Infrastructure Program, primarily in the Rio Grande Valley Sector, in the Southewestern Region – U.S., to three companies: Cerrudo Services of Novato, CA; MCC Joint Venture, LLP, of El Paso, TX; and LEC/Amigo Joint Venture, also of El Paso. The contract, valued at $78 million, calls for the construction of structures and facilities needed as part of the nation’s upgraded border security programs.



In a related development, the U.S. Army Engineer District – Tulsa, also announced an award of an $84 million contract for the DHS Tactical Infrastructure Program, primarily in the Marfa (TX) Sector, Southwestern Region - U.S. The winning companies were Hallmark Capital Group, LLC, of Houston, TX; CKY, Inc., of San Pedro, CA; and Marsh Development Inc., of Sonoita, AZ.



The General Services Administration has awarded Cascades Technologies, Inc., of Herndon, VA, a five-year, $3.5 million contract to support USA.gov, the U.S. Government’s official Web portal. CTi will provide content management support services, accessibility compliance and project management support for both USA.gov and its Spanish language mirror site, GobiernoUSA.gov.



The Environmental Protection Agency awarded a sole-source fixed-price purchase order to Thermo Electron North America, LLC, of Waltham, MA, for maintenance services for the Noran System Six-300 Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectrometer, the MAXray Wave Dispersive Spectrometer and the HKL Nordlys II Electron Backscatter Detector. The equipment supports the homeland security program and the civil and criminal enforcement programs at the EPA’s National Enforcement Investigations Center. The performance period for this procurement is from February 17, 2008 through February, 2009.



DHS awarded Performance Management Consulting, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Aviel Systems, Inc., of McLean, VA, two task orders valued at more than $25 million to provide management support to the Atlas Automation Modernization program, Common Computing Environment (CCE) project, as well as new support for the engineering division of Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Office of the Chief Information Officer.
