Contracts: DHS awards General Dynamics $22 million NCC support contract

The Department of Homeland Security awarded General Dynamics a task order to provide 24/7 watch-officer, technical, analytical and liaison support to its National Coordinating Center. The award has a maximum potential value of $21.8 million over 50 months if all options are exercised. Under the task order, General Dynamics will provide the NCC with information assurance analysis and information system support. Membership in the NCC, an industry-government operations center designed to maintain the national telecommunications grid under all conditions, includes nine federal government agencies and 43 private corporations in communications, defense and IT sectors.



Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc., of San Diego, CA, was awarded a public safety contract from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department to oversee the development of a prototype Command and Control Personal Computer-Public Safety (C2PC-PS) system for the LASD. The project, valued at just under $1 million, is expected to be completed in November 2008.



The Transportation Security Administration intends to negotiate and award a sole source contract to Sabre Airline Solutions, of Southlake, TX, to provide business process and application support services for TSA’s Electronic Time, Attendance and Scheduling system which is currently under development.



The Defense Department’s microelectronics activity contracting division plans to acquire a Micro Sensor System and a Chameleon system from the advanced integrated systems division of Signal Technology Corp. These systems are used for perimeter defense, intelligence gathering and remote installation monitoring.
