Contracts: DHS awards tactical infrastructure contracts

The Department of Homeland Security awarded contracts to three companies -- Environmental Chemical Corp. of Burlingame, CA; Kiewit Texas Construction, LP, of Fort Worth, TX; and Weston Solutions of Houston, TX -- to construct structures and facilities related to DHS’s tactical infrastructure program, primarily in the Laredo (TX) Sector of the Southwestern Region. The combined contract award amount was $172 million.



The Armor Group, to provide multi-faceted counter-threat operations training to law enforcement officers and other DHS and emergency responder students.



SYS Technologies, Inc., of San Diego, CA, has been awarded a contract by the Philadelphia Regional Port Authority (PRPA) in Philadelphia, PA, to install its Vigilys Incident Management System.



Boston Micromachines Corp., of Watertown, MA, was selected by the U.S. Army for a $750,000 Phase II Small Business Technology Transfer Program (STTR) award to enable the company and its partner, Boston University, to advance development of its Secure Communicating Optical Ultra-small Transponder. The micro device is expected to prevent friendly fire casualties.
