Biz Opps: CBP seeks ad agency to get job opening message out

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Office of Border Patrol (OBP), Buffalo Sector Recruitment Department, needs radio, newspaper and mass transit advertising services to boost its recruitment efforts. The Buffalo office handles recruitment in the states of Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania and in western New York, including the Buffalo area. The advertising effort will help the agency hire 6,800 border patrol agents by December 31, 2008. Contact at 202-344-1971. Respond by May 2.



The Department of Homeland Security’s Center for Domestic Preparedness has issued a sources sought notice, seeking information on multi-sensor meter (MSM) chemical point detectors commonly referred to as multi-gas monitors (MGM) to validate their employment and effectiveness when used by emergency responders in weapons of mass destruction (WMD) or hazardous materials (HAZMAT) environments. Information provided, and the monitors themselves, will be subject to review under the System Assessment and Validation for Emergency Responder (SAVER) program which is designed to provide the emergency response community with feedback on equipment based on utilization in scenarios that replicate, to the maximum extent possible, conditions that will be experienced in incident response. The Federal Law Enforcement Training Center seeks a contractor to provide role players to simulate everyday law enforcement situations to reinforce classroom lecture for students. Roles will include criminals, aliens, rioters, court witnesses, drunk drivers, asylum seekers, border crossers and escapees. Contractor will provide services over a 200-mile radius of the Glynco, GA, campus. These services have been performed by contractors for 10-15 years. Approximately 450 training scenarios are currently in use. No subcontracting of role player services is permitted.
