Biz Opps: EPA seeks risk assessment security team support

The Environmental Protection Agency issued a call for contractors to provide support services for the EPA National Homeland Security Research Center’s (NHSRC) security team. The successful applicant must be able to identify, mark and control sensitive and classified matter to support the mitigation of national security risks emerging from research. The NHSRC security team ensures that such information is quickly identified and controlled to prevent release to parties that might exploit it for harm to U.S. citizens. Customs and Border Protection needs first responder training courses to improve the U.S. Border Patrol’s capabilities to assess, prevent and respond to humanitarian emergencies. CBP intends to provide such training to 4,800 Border Patrol Academy interns. Course content must be in accordance with first responder training standards employed by the American Red Cross, the National Safety Council or the American Safety and Health Institute. DHS requires the design, installation and integration of very high frequency (VHF) repeaters to be deployed in the Phoenix/Mesa, AZ, region. The new VHF system must integrate with the existing Phoenix/Mesa Motorola Astro P25 trunked 800 MHz radio system.
