Biz Opps: Navy’s SPAWAR seeks license plate recognition info

The U.S. Navy’s Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center, in Charleston, SC, is seeking information about commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) mobile license plate recognition systems that meet the needs of emergency responders in the field. The information and equipment are being sought under the DHS System Assessment and Validation for Emergency Responders (SAVER) Program, which conducts comparative assessments and validation activities to provide emergency first responders with information on important products and services. Immigration and Customs Enforcement seeks detention service providers at its Batavia Service Processing Center in Batavia, NY. The proposed contract calls for detention services including officers, guards and transport. The period of performance is to commence April 15, with a 60-day mobilization period and full performance from June 15, 2008 through March 31, 2009, plus four one-year options. The U.S. Army seeks maintenance services for ADT security systems at its Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland. The anticipated contract is part of the Army’s on-going need for intrusion detection systems and support equipment at the proving ground facility. In a separate development, the Army Sustainment Command issued a sources sought notice, seeking manufacturers of Global Positioning Systems (GPS) for use at the McAlester Army Munition Plant in McAlester, OK. The Army plans to seek bids to implement a secure GPS network to facilitate tracking a variety of equipment in real- or near real-time within the McAlester plant, which covers more than 42,000 acres.
