Biz Opps: DHS seeks training experts in counter threat operations

The Department of Homeland Security seeks qualified trainers to provide courses and seminars covering counter threat, dignitary protection, defensive driving, surveillance detection and other anti-terror subjects. The U.S. Navy’s Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center, in Charleston, SC, is seeking information on commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) man-portable unmanned aerial vehicles that meet the needs of emergency responders in the field. Target audience is the first responder community; all submittals should suit their specific needs. All information gathered will be reviewed by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), as part of the DHS System Assessment and Validation for Emergency Responders (SAVER) Program. The Los Alamos National Laboratory requires construction services to replace an existing physical protection security system installed at a major nuclear facility within the laboratory. Three procurements are anticipated, covering an entry control facility (including a 180-foot access tunnel), a west vehicle access facility and a temporary visitor center. The State Department seeks to acquire an Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS), to be provided to the Government of El Salvador to serve as that country’s national criminal fingerprint repository. The 10-print AFIS system being sought must be searchable by biometric or biographic data. Contractor will also be called on to install up to seven remote data entry/fingerprint query terminals.
