Biz Opps: DHS seeks larger, lower cost WMD detection network

The Department of Homeland Security has issued a broad agency announcement on behalf of the Homeland Security Advanced Research Projects Agency (HSARPA), calling for white papers on weapons of mass destruction (WMD) detection systems. The agency is seeking to accelerate advances in miniaturized biological and chemical sensing (e.g., laboratories on a chip) to expand coverage and realize greater WMD protection for the nation. The Federal Emergency Management Agency seeks sources for developing a flood risk mapping, analysis and planning (Risk MAP) strategy, based on the terms outlined in FEMA’s Draft Concept Paper. Contact: Lynn Gardner at 202-646-2815. Respond by November 16.



The DHS Science and Technology Directorate is seeking information on the development of a cost effective communication system providing first responders with resilient and durable communications after disruption of conventional communications systems in the event of a natural disaster or terrorist event.
