TSA wants software tool to assess transport risks

The Transportation Security Administration is planning to procure commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) software that would enable the agency to assess the terrorist risks and vulnerabilities affecting various modes of transportation in the U.S., including bus, rail, trucks and general aviation.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection has issued technical specifications for what it sees as a "Conveyance Security Device" (CSD) that would be able to detect any intrusion through the rear door of a cargo container while it was being transported along the global supply chain.
