Johnson Controls plans big push in systems integration niche

Johnson Controls Inc. threw down the gauntlet at the ASIS show in Atlanta, declaring that it plans to "triple" its global market share in the systems integration space.
"We can go toe-to-toe with any systems integrator in the world," declared Lisa Roy, vice president of global security strategy. "It is in our DNA to do systems integration."
Pixia to assist the NGA with "persistent surveillance"

The National Geospatial- Intelligence Agency (NGA) plans to award a contract to the Pixia Corp., of Sterling, VA, to provide data conversion services and software integration that will allow the agency’s Persistent Surveillance Lab to work with massive amounts of still and video imagery.
TWIC cards coming to Port of Guam

As the nationwide roll-out continues for TSA’s Transportation Worker Identification Credential, also known as the TWIC card, the Port of Guam is coming up to bat. This Pacific port will begin its TWIC enrollment period on Sept. 4, according to a recent TSA announcement.

DHS infrastructure office plans a 20-minute high definition video

The division, a unit of the department’s Office of Infrastructure Protection, under Assistant Secretary Robert Stephan, plans to produce a 20-minute high definition video that explains its overall role in collecting, protecting and sharing infrastructure data, as well of the roles of three of its key programs:
Brazil wants U.S. assistance to improve its seaport cargo monitoring

Thanks to a $523,500 grant from the U.S. Trade and Development Agency, the Government of Brazil seeks technical assistance from a U.S. firm to help it improve its cargo monitoring capabilities at its seaports and develop what it calls an "Intelligent Cargo and Intelligent Network Port Logistics Chain."
