Mutant germs, watch out! The House Committee on Homeland Security is hosting a technology fair entitled, "Detecting and Responding to Bioterrorism," to promote a better understanding of technologies used in combating bioterrorism. The fair, which will take place in the foyer of the Rayburn House Office Building in Washington, DC, April 2, will highlight the latest tools used in the detection of and response to a bioterrorist attack. This would include the intentional release or dissemination of biological agents, such as bacteria, viruses or toxins in a naturally-occurring or a human-modified form, through air, water or food.
Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-MS), chairman of the Homeland Security Committee, will attend.
