L-1 Identity Solutions wins $50 million Defense Travel System award

The BPA is a consolidation of several support services contracts that provide program management and engineering support to the Defense Travel System’s program management office.
By its nature, the Defense Travel System requires identity security and information assurance for its clients and users.
The Defense Travel System provides a seamless, paperless, travel system for temporary duty travel (business travel) for military and civilian DoD employees. The mission of the system is to reduce costs, support a wide variety of travel needs, and provide superior customer service to DoD travelers.
As part of the BPA, ACI will provide systems engineers, financial analysts, program analysts, and subject matter experts to support the program management office in systems engineering, strategic planning, business process reengineering, budgeting, software testing, configuration management, communications support, information assurance and other analytical functions.
The BPA contract has a base term of one year valued at up to $10 million and may be extended for up to four additional years at a maximum value of $10 million each year.
According to L-1 sources, this is the largest contract award to date for ACI. Robert LaPenta, Chairman, President and CEO of L-1 Identity Solutions, said the award was a "vote of confidence" in the ability of ACI to meet defense and homeland security agency requirements.
ACI is a provider of Information Technology (IT) solutions with a primary focus on providing IT support to the intelligence community and the Department of Defense. ACI's core technology capabilities include infrastructure engineering, systems engineering and integration, software development and information assurance.
