Idaho National Lab offers cyber software for licensing

In a notice posted online December 13, the laboratory announced the opportunity for a commercial enterprise to sign a non-exclusive license to bring the desktop software tool to one or more specific critical infrastructure sectors, such as electricity generation, nuclear power, water treatment, chemical manufacturing and others.
"The Control Systems Cyber Security Self-Assessment Tool (CS2SAT) provides users with a systematic and repeatable approach for assessing the cyber security posture of their industrial control system networks," said the lab’s notice.
Idaho National Laboratory has already signed a license agreement with one commercial partner, but it would like to sign additional agreements to extend the reach of the new software into the marketplace. Such partners ought to have experience with industrial control systems and cyber security, know how to bring software to the market, be willing to make a significant investment and have a substantial U.S. presence, the notice explained.
The software tool guides users through a step-by-step information gathering process and then taps its own data base of cyber security best practices to recommend an appropriate course of action.
"Beta testing of the CS2SAT tool has been completed, and a production version is ready for immediate licensing," said the lab, which is based in Idaho Falls, ID.
