New Products: Panasonic unveils IP product line

Panasonic launched four new IP-based products, including a video server, and a color dome camera. The Panasonic WVNW964 i-Pro All-in-One network PTZ camera is an IP66-rated weatherproof outdoor camera. Other features include endless PTZ operation for superior picture quality with no digital-to-analog-to-digital conversion, MPEG-4 and JPEG dual streaming output, 30x optical zoom, 10x electronic (300x total), user friendly GUI including "drag and zoom" operation for targeted viewing and an SD memory card slot for on-board recording.
New Products: Pelco unveils DigitalSentry video management systems

Pelco announced the release of its Integral DigitalSentry line of digital video management systems, providing seamless integration with both the Pelco Camclosure IP series and the IP3701 series cameras. DigitalSentry software allows users to interface Pelco IP cameras in a hybrid configuration along with analog cameras. It provides an IT-focused software suite comprised of options such as video analytics, health and event monitoring and a flexible archive utility. More significant, perhaps, is that the software-only NVS solution allows customers to use the PC server platform of their choice.
New Products: Arecont unveils IP megapixel camera line

Arecont Vision, of Glendale, CA, released a full line of H.264 IP megapixel cameras, comprising four models (1.3, 2.0, 3.0 and 5.0 megapixels), offering up to 25 times greater compression than MJPEG. The cameras support multi-streaming capabilities for transmission of several H.264 video streams at different video formats, frame rates or resolutions. The cameras will have their initial showing at the InterSec Middle East trade show in Dubai, UAE, January 14.

New Products: Alion risk software helps chemical companies meet DHS regs

Alion Science and Technology, based in McLean, VA, unveiled a Web-based risk management software tool designed to help the chemical industry comply with recently enacted DHS regulations. The Alion solution, RAMCAP Plus, characterizes chemical industry processes and system components to identify applicable threats and vulnerabilities. It helps chemical companies perform risk management exercises and reach compliance by enabling those companies to assess their chemical threshold levels. Such compliance is now required under the DHS Chemical Facilities Anti-Terrorism Standard (CFATS) Appendix A, accepted into Final Rule in late November, 2007.

New Products: Speco Technologies expands DVR product family

The latest state-of-the-art Triplex Family digital video recorders from Speco Technologies will be available in February, 2008. The IP-based DVR-4TL offers four channels, MPEG-4 and triplex operation that allows simultaneous recording, live viewing and playback. Amityville, NY-based Speco Technologies also announced that its TN series of DVRs has been expanded to include 8-channel(DVR-8TL) and 16-channel (DVR-16TL) models.

New Products: DHS offers DRASH modular shelter system

DHS Systems LLC, of Orangeburg, NY, now offers a large deployable command and control shelter system, designed for 24/7 operations. The Deployable Rapid Assembly Shelter (DRASH) comes complete with a 25-gallon fuel tank, a 12-ton environmental control unit and a 33 kW generator. The towable J shelter provides 1,120 sq. ft. of space, and weighs 1,600 pounds; the total system (including generator) weighs 11,900 pounds.
New Products: ISSI develops energy-absorbing, movable barrier system

Integrated Security Systems, Inc. (ISSI), of Carrollton, TX, announced that B&B Roadway, a joint venture partner of its B&B Armr subsidiary, has developed a new, energy-absorbing, movable barrier system, designed to bring a vehicle to a full stop by allowing speed to be dissipated without abrupt deceleration. The system, expected to be shipped in the second quarter of 2008, is designed to meet access control requirements of state and local transport agencies, as well as border patrol and law enforcement applications.
