Lansing, MI-based Aegis Bleu, LLC has launched its Vulnerability Assessment Security Survey Tool (VASST), which it characterizes as the first mobile physical infrastructure self-assessment software tool. VASST allows one or more persons to survey a facility and then document vulnerabilities with photographic evidence, using a mobile PDA. It also can assess multiple facilities and consolidate information into a centralized reporting engine.

Minneapolis, MN-based ObjectFX, a geospatial platform solutions provider, has released SpatialRules version 3.0, its spatio-temporal rules engine, part of the suite of ObjectFX geospatial solutions. SpatialRules 3.0 is designed for enterprise government organizations, and particularly for intelligence, defense and homeland security initiatives. According to the company, this new software brings a significantly higher level of insight and flexibility to support mission planning, situational awareness, all-source analysis, asset tracking and battlefield visualization. It works with user-defined rule layers, enabling the user to track moving objects or real-time events through automatic system-generated notifications.

Madison, AL-based AvaLAN Wireless, the wireless Ethernet specialist, has introduced its new point-to-multipoint AX900xTR line of radios that are IP addressable, with remote configuration & diagnostic tools, and support multiple IP addresses at each remote node. The AW900xTR product line can enable fringe IP devices, including IP access control readers, SCADA clients, bio-scanners, printers, PCs, VoIP phones, point-of-sale devices, digital signage, or Internet kiosks in a long-range, non-line-of-sight, point-to-multipoint wireless Ethernet solution.

Radiation detection - Holbrook, NY-based Zistos Corp., a portable video systems specialist, is offering the VRAD Video Radiological Adapter, which generates an early warning of radiological alarm events on the surveillance video screen. The system uses existing video cameras, cables and monitors, and reports radiation levels and alarms on a video overlay that appears on the surveillance video and can be viewed or recorded on existing video surveillance hardware.

Bosch introduces new IP video encoders

Video encoders Fairport, NY-based Bosch Security Systems, Inc., has introduced its VideoJet X SN series of IP video encoders, designed to meet market demand for video analytics located at a network’s edge to save system resources. The encoders, with Bosch’s video content analysis software, Intelligent Video Analysis 3.5, embedded, are available in single-, dual- and quad-channel versions, and they deliver MPEG-4 video over IP at 30 frames per second, at up to 4CIF resolution on every video channel. According to the company, the content analysis software allows the encoders to autonomously detect suspicious behavior, including loitering, objects left at a scene, object removal and virtual trip wire.
