LAND MOBILE RADIO –
Thales Communications, Inc., of Clarksburg, MD, introduced its Liberty multiband, software-defined land mobile radio designed for government agencies and first responders. The radio utilizes technology to allow federal, state and local agencies to communicate across all public safety bands -- 136-174 MHz, 380-520 MHz, 700 MHz and 800 MHz -- using a single portable radio that operates in direct mode or uses existing infrastructure in any of the bands.
NIGHT VISION – Schott, AG, of Elmsford, NY, introduced NightViper, a new night vision device that enables soldiers to see around corners. The new imaging system consists of bundled fiber optics, housed in a flexible casing, which is coupled to standard night vision goggles. By pointing the device around a corner or over a wall, a soldier on patrol can survey the area nearby without breaking cover.
PICO PROJECTION - The new Ostar Projection SMT LED from Osram Opto Semiconductors, Inc., of Santa Clara, CA, IS more compact and efficient than ever before and is designed for integration into ultra-miniature pico projection applications where space is at a premium. It is ideal for applications such as the pico projectors now being integrated into cell phone and other mobile appliances.
