New Products: Bosch introduces energy efficient CCTV power supplies

Bosch Security Systems, Inc., is adding the UPA Series Power Supplies to its product portfolio. The UPA Series provides energy efficient operation when used with Bosch series CCD, Megapixel cameras, keyboards and other professional surveillance products. The UPA 60 Hz models are designed specifically to meet the strict efficiency standards and laws being adopted in the U.S. They meet or exceed the International Energy Efficiency Level IV requirements. The UPA Series is available in 120 VAC, 230 VAC and 24 VAC models, as well as 24 VAC, 15 VDC and 12 VDC secondary output models.



EMERGENCY CALLS - Avaya Inc., of Basking Ridge, NJ, is launching new solutions to help modernize emergency calling operations to enable more effective handling and faster response to 911 calls. Avaya Public Safety Communications Solutions are based on the company's IP telephony, contact center and unified communications applications and integrated with key emergency response technologies from other vendors. These solutions can link local 911 centers into municipal, county or statewide networks and enable them to accept and interact with text messaging and video, as well as to quickly tap experts in other agencies or departments when a caller is on the line.



DISK ENCRYPTION - Check Point Software Technologies Ltd., of Redwood City, CA, announced the release of Check Point Full Disk Encryption for Mac OS X, with pre-boot authentication to support the Mac OS. The encryption program supports all major laptop and desktop operating systems, including Mac OS X version 10.4.5 "Tiger" through Mac OS X version 10.5 "Leopard."



RISK MONITORING – iSight Partners launched iRAM (Risk Assessment and Monitoring), a new service to protect highly targeted multi-national assets, including domestic and international satellite offices, global contractors, suppliers and institutions holding intellectual property coveted by fraudsters (eg., customer lists, passwords and account numbers, or personally identifiable information [PII] on employees and customers). The new service combines speed and efficiency utilizing the company’s proprietary global and local threat data and in-country resources. The resulting analysis uncovers a range of threats and recommends courses of risk mitigation.



MAIL ENCRYPTION - Voltage Security unveiled Voltage SecureMail Archive Connector for Symantec Enterprise Vault. The connector allows organizations to achieve low cost and scalable encryption of sensitive information with Voltage Identity-Based Encryption (IBE), while preserving a company’s existing eDiscovery, retention, archiving and compliance-centric business processes for e-mail. As a partner in the Symantec Technology Enabled Program, Voltage completed interoperability testing of SecureMail Archive and achieved certification for Enterprise Vault.



COMPLIANCE – TraceSecurity, of Baton Rouge, LA, introduced the newest version of its TraceSecurity Compliance Manager (TSCM). TSCM 4.5 offers improved functionality that boosts an already powerful offering, including auto creation of policies and policy change management and support for Identity Theft "Red Flags," NERC CIP Standards, and NIST.



INTRUSION DETECTION – MachineTalker, a designer and manufacturer of ad hoc wireless peer-to-peer mesh networks for security, asset tracking and sensors, announced the introduction of a new intrusion detector based on Ultra Wideband (UWB) radio technology. The device creates an "electromagnetic bubble" which totally surrounds an area. The range of the bubble is about 15 meters (approximately 50 feet) in diameter. The size of the intrusion detection area can be reduced to approximately 1-2 meters.



REMOTE MANAGEMENT – Kanguru Solutions, of Millis, MA, announced the release of the Kanguru Remote Management Console, which can remotely monitor, manage and audit activity from specific USB flash drives anywhere in the world.
