Neurotechnology (formerly Neurotechnologija), a Lithuania-based provider of high-precision biometric identification technologies, has released two new biometric software development kits: VeriFinger 6.0 SDK for fingerprint recognition and VeriLook 3.2 SDK for facial recognition applications. Both versions support development of Web-based applications, live face detection and incorporate MegaMatcher core algorithms for reliable biometric identification, enabling the development of fast, reliable and cost-effective biometric identification systems for Windows, Linux and Mac OSX platforms.

IP CAMERAS - Texas Instruments and Aptina Imaging (a division of Micron) announced the release of a highly optimized reference design that reduces development time and cost for IP network camera developers. The reference design is based on TI's TMS320DM355 DaVinci digital media processor and Aptina's MT9P031 CMOS image sensor.

VIDEO ANALYTICS – ObjectVideo, of Reston, VA, announced that its onboard video analytics are now available on Intel Architecture (IA) systems. ObjectVideo said the expanded architecture flexibility and options will make it significantly easier to embed analytics throughout a video ecosystem.

COMPUTER DEFENSE -PineApp, an Israeli software vendor specializing in securing networks and e-mail systems, launched its new ZombiCop solution for ISPs to block the growing volume of spam from zombie computers that is increasingly resilient to existing anti-virus or anti-botnet defenses. Zombie computer networks, comprising desktops or servers that have been attacked and compromised by a virus or Trojan-horse, account for more than 95 percent of spam worldwide. PineApp ZombiCop can be used as a "passive inspection sniffer," alerting the ISP once a zombie is detected; or as an "active policy enforcer," blocking or reducing traffic generated from a detected zombie IP.
