New Products: PacStar 6000 series IP communications unveiled at FOSE

Portland, OR-based PacStar, in a collaborative effort with the Unified Communications division of Cisco, announced the release of the PacStar 6000 series of Unified Communications (UC) Enterprise and Deployable solutions. The new products, in tandem with the 6300 and 6800 series, are designed to deliver IP-based voice, video and data communications to U.S. forces around the world, in compliance with new specifications to move to Everything over IP (EoIP), as mandated by the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD). The new solutions could also have applications for large homeland security and law enforcement agencies. The PacStar 6000 series is based on Cisco Unified Communications systems that have been enhanced with PacStar's patented IQ Software, which provides a unified, easy to use interface that automates and simplifies routine, time-consuming and difficult tasks. The new systems are housed in PacStar's IQ-Core case, a ruggedized case housing and tray structure that is designed to meet Military Standard 810F requirements for transportation, vibration, shock and temperature.



HEAT IMAGING – L-3 Infrared Products has issued the Thermal-Eye 2400xp Advanced thermal imaging camera with "Gold Standard" BST infrared detector technology offering 320 x 240 resolution, uninterrupted video and solar immunity. The Thermal-Eye 2400xp Advanced is available in two configurations, including fixed-mounted or state-of-the-art pan-and-tilt, both with dual sensor capabilities for visible and thermal imaging.



IP SOLUTION - HID Global announced its Edge family of IP-based access control solutions will be incorporated into the OnGuard 2008 Plus (release 6.1) solution by Lenel. Edge support will allow Lenel to further expand OnGuard’s capabilities to enhance existing sites, provide comprehensive contactless smart card implementations and meet the needs of users seeking pure IP-based devices as part, or all, of their access security system hardware platform.



ACCESS CONTROL - AEP Networks, of Somerset, NJ, announced the availability of AEP IDpoint, an advanced identity-based access control (IBAC) appliance. IDpoint is an identity-driven, stealth-mode, wire-speed policy enforcement point for use in the enterprise data center in front of critical application resources.



VIDEO MANAGEMENT - Aimetis Corp., of Waterloo, Canada, announced the launch of Aimetis Symphony Video Management software. Built on an open, standards-based architecture, Aimetis Symphony is an integrated video management and analytics software platform. The software provides advanced surveillance capabilities, a robust and scalable IT infrastructure, and powerful business information reports.
