Vicon Industries Inc., of Hauppauge, NY, will shortly unveil its newest digital video management software, ViconNet 5.0. The program combines the power of ViconNet with open platform flexibility, allowing for easy integration with most major IP camera manufacturers, such as Panasonic, Bosch, Sony, Arecont Vision, ACTi, Axis and IQinVision. ViconNet 5.0 will also introduce support for megapixel cameras, the seamless integration of ViconNet VI Video Intelligence within the ViconNet interface, support for the ViconNet GUI on 16:9 displays and maps for the Virtual Matrix Controller.

BIOMETRIC TERMINAL – Datastrip Inc., of Exton, PA, introduced the DSV2+Turbo, a handheld biometric terminal designed for federal, state and local applications requiring on-the-spot ID verification. Its 508-dpi fingerprint sensor provides AFIS-quality records for instant biometric processing. The unit processes an array of cards -- including PIV, TWIC and CAC -- by reading contact/contactless chips on ID documents such as ID cards, passports and driver’s licenses.

EMERGENCY LIGHTING -– Staco Energy Products Co., of Dayton, OH, now offers its FirstLine 924 three-phase Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) central emergency lighting system for 8 - 16 kW applications. This true on-line, double-conversion central inverter provides computer grade power quality for any lighting system. In addition to providing a continuous 90-minute (minimum) power supply during blackouts, the FirstLine 924 isolates and protects the connected load from damaging sags, swells, harmonics, noise and voltage imbalances in the primary AC supply.
