New Products: Pelican introduces rapid deploying searchlight

Pelican Products, Inc., of Torrance, CA, announced the introduction of a remote area lighting system (RALS) designed to enhance mobility for law enforcement and first responders. The Pelican 9450 RALS is a rapid deploying, emergency area light, powered by a 17-hour rechargeable battery that offers up to nine hours of peak light and requires only six hours for a full charge. The system sports an auxiliary socket that can deliver an emergency charge to any device (such as a cell phone or laptop) with a 12 volt power adapter.





FIRE ALARMS - The Gamewell FCI division of the Honeywell Life Safety Group, based in Morris Township, NJ, released its new Flex Series line of conventional fire alarm control panels. The series offers two, four, five and 10 zone fire control panels, plus a full range of compatible peripheral devices. New features in the Flex Series include programmable initiating and notification circuits, 80-character LCD interface, built-in Form-C relays, DACT communicators and history logs recording up to 256 events.



RUGGED CAMERAS - Extreme CCTV, of Burnaby, Canada, announces the release of the enhanced and EX72N Series explosion-protected integrated day/night cameras, designed to deliver effective, around-the-clock surveillance at hazardous locations. The certified explosion-protected cameras offer day/night mechanical filter CCDs for outstanding daytime color and 40 foot active infrared night vision under low-light conditions.



ACCESS CONTROL - Bosch Security Systems, Inc., of Fairport, NY, introduced Access Personal Edition, an easy-to-use, modular access control software program for small to medium businesses and organizations. The software supports up to 2,000 users, 64 readers and 16 workstations and uses the Access Modular Controller hardware platform.



IP VIDEO SECURITY – Pelco announced the availability of version 1.5 of the WS5000 Advanced System Software for the Endura IP video security system. The software provides access to all operation and configuration features of the Endura video monitoring and surveillance system in a unified, user-friendly interface.



ENCRYPTION – Dekart, a security solutions firm based in Chisinau, Moldova, released version 2.10 of Private Disk, its disk encryption software which comes with support for Windows Vista. The new version includes authenticity verification for Windows applications and a feature listing of applications accessing a protected disk.
