New Products: UltraVision MicroDetector offers cops portable, rechargeable motion detector

UltraVision Security Systems, Inc., of Salem, NH, has unveiled its MicroDetector motion-sensing system which is designed to offer police and other law enforcement agencies a portable, rechargeable and retrievable system that allows monitoring via an off-premise receiver. The MicroDetector is a "force multiplier" in that it eliminates the need for police officers or SWAT team members to remain in "cleared" rooms or spaces. Each unit has a 25-foot omni-directional range, using microwave technology to perform instantaneous motion sensing operations.



SECURITY VEIL – Spirit of America Corp., of Fort Wayne, IN, offers its Perimeter Security Veil as a means to enhance security and protect mission essential vulnerable areas, sensitive compartmented information facilities (SCIFs) or any other type of security application. The PSV measures 7.5 x 10 meters and weighs 21 pounds. It obscures its contents from view, while permitting those within to monitor outside activity.



RADIATION DETECTION – Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., of Oakwood, OH, announced extensions to its advanced line of RadEye portable pocket-sized radiation instruments. The new RadEye B20 and RadEye N models feature advanced neutron radiation, contamination and dose rate measurement capabilities.



CCTV - Vicon Industries Inc., of Hauppauge, NY, announced the introduction of the VC-700S and VC-710S video surveillance camera dome series. The domes, configured for in-ceiling or surface-mount installation, incorporate a fixed camera and lens combination. Units can be installed directly to a standard 4x4 electrical box without the need of an adapter. The adjustable camera may be rotated a full 90 degrees allowing a straight down, unobstructed view of the area being monitored.



LIQUID DETECTION – ICx Technologies, of Washington, DC, released its new Fido PaxPoint liquid explosive detector, a hand-held, portable detector which can accurately detect key chemicals and liquid explosives in real-time, through a variety of sealed containers. Designed for use in applications where numerous packages and containers must be scanned quickly, Fido was successfully tested by the Transportation Security Administration at several of the nation’s largest airports.
