New Products: IndigoVision in the mood for new HD IP CCTV cameras

HD IP CCTV CAMERAS - IndigoVision, of Middlesex, NJ, is launching a range of high-definition (HD) IP CCTV cameras worldwide at upcoming international security shows. The HD 10000 series will complement the company’s existing 8000 and 9000 IP cameras. The HD 10000 series uses H.264 compression technology that allows HD video to be streamed at 15 fps and recorded for 50 days, using just 1TB of storage. Options include full duplex audio and a range of different housings and fixings for wall or ceiling mounting. The company expects to roll out HD versions of all its current IP cameras shortly.

New Products: Panasonic Security Systems introduces new NVR

Secaucus, NJ-based Panasonic Security Systems, a division of Panasonic System Solutions Company, has introduced the i-Pro WJ-ND400 network video recorder, engineered for IP-camera-based video surveillance systems. The i-Pro WJ-ND400 can record up to 64 network cameras simultaneously, with multi-format recording in MPEG-4 and JPEG. It also offers 2x and 4x digital zoom on live or recorded video, and also provides Panasonic camera control for pan/tilt, zoom, focus, brightness, preset position and auto mode. Up to nine 1TB hot-plug hard disk drives can be installed for maximum on-board storage capabilities, while up to 16 clients can monitor and control the WJ-ND400 simultaneously.

IDENTITY MONITORING - ArcSight, of Cupertino, CA, has unveiled its new IdentityView product, which connects the user- and role-management functions of identity management products with the broad activity monitoring and correlation functions of security information and event management products. IdentityView is designed to work with identity and access management systems from a variety of vendors, giving nearly any of identity management customers a better understanding of who is on the network, what data they are seeing and which actions they are taking with that data.

IAASP meeting in DC to review security

Airport and seaport police will be holding their annual gathering July 21-24 in Washington, DC.

Highlights of the 2008 International Aviation & Maritime Conference, hosted by the America's region of the International Association of Airport and Seaport Police and the U.S. Airport and Seaport Police, will include a six-hour chemical security tabletop aviation and maritime exercise; a chemical briefing by U.S. Army technician Brad Hack; a briefing from Chief Inspector Bill Anderson about the recent Glasgow Airport bombing; presentations about the FBI Maritime, Aviation and Transit Counterterrorism unit and about underwater security; and workshops including the TSA, FBI, USCG and others.

New Products: QinetiQ introduces suicide bomber detection systems

QinetiQ North America Technology Solutions Group announced the release of two suicide bomber detection system.. The SPO-20 and SPO-7R are non-imaging passive remote detection systems that can reveal the presence of potential suicide bombers and other anomalies, at ranges out to 30 meters, with a probability of detection exceeding 90 percent. Both systems employ passive millimeter wave technology to look beneath clothing for concealed IEDs, without running afoul of privacy issues associated with conventional imaging systems. The screening process and real-time detection requires less than three seconds.

New Products: QualSec develops electronic "nano-nose" for threat detection

Utah-based QualSec announced the development of the NanoNose, a next generation electronic nose threat detection device. Utilizing its patent pending ROder technology, QualSec created the handheld electronic device to detect explosives, communicable diseases and hazardous materials in real-time with instant read out of the threat and its level of concentration in ambient air. QualSec’s target price for its device is in the $2,000 to $3,000 range, depending on features and sales volumes.

Smiths Detection, part of the global technology business, Smiths Group, launched a new portable chemical identifier specially designed for diverse field operations requiring quick and easy identification of unknown solids or liquids. The HazMatID Ranger is based on the company’s HazMatID product, a field-based solid and liquid identifier widely used by military and civil responders. The HazMatID Ranger library allows responders to identify more than 32,000 suspicious white powders, WMDs, explosives, common and toxic chemicals. The system is also supported by ReachBack 24/7/365 technical assistance to aid responders with spectral interpretation in the field.
