Gatekeeper announces record-breaking backorders of over $2.7 Million; receives $447,000 in new contracts

Abbotsford, BC, February 29 - Gatekeeper Systems Inc. is pleased to report that it has received new purchase orders for its next generation high-definition mobile video systems worth approximately $447,000 CDN for customers located within the United States and Canada. With the New Orders, Gatekeeper has reached over $2.7 million CDN in backorders as of February 15, 2016, representing the highest sales backorder in the Company's history to date.
Customers making up the New Orders include Alpine School District Utah, Anchorage School District Alaska, Saskatchewan River School District, and International Corporation Alberta.
Products provided include Gatekeeper high-definition mobile video systems, including one hundred and forty high-definition cameras to record stop-arm violations on Saskatchewan River School Districts buses.
Gatekeeper's technology has been designed to meet tough military standards for shock, vibration heat and cold. Rough road conditions as well as extreme weather fluctuations found in Alaska, Saskatchewan, Alberta, and Utah are some of the toughest conditions for a school bus video system to operate reliably. Gatekeeper's next generation high-definition mobile video systems were designed to operate in these extreme environments.
President and CEO Doug Dyment stated, "These new orders were received in the second fiscal quarter 2016 and we intend to ship these orders by the third fiscal quarter of 2016. Our total backorder has hit new highs increasing over $2.7 million as of the week of February 15, 2016, and we are on track to accomplish our revenue goals for the current fiscal year end."

Richmond, VA, March 3 - Dominion Resources, Inc. and Questar Corporation announced today that they have jointly filed merger applications with the Public Service Commission of Utah and the Wyoming Public Service Commission regarding the pending combination that was announced on Feb. 1, 2016. The companies also provided notice of the proposed transaction to the Idaho Public Utilities Commission.
The pending merger would create an integrated energy company serving about 2.5 million electric utility customers and 2.3 million gas utility customers in seven states. The combined company also would operate more than 15,500 miles of natural gas transmission, gathering and storage pipelines, one of the nation's largest natural gas storage systems, and approximately 24,300 megawatts of electric generation.
Closing of the transaction also requires approval of Questar's shareholders. In February, the Federal Trade Commission granted early termination of the applicable waiting period under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act with respect to the transaction.
The companies expect the transaction to close in 2016.
Dominion is one of the nation's largest producers and transporters of energy, with a portfolio of approximately 24,300 megawatts of generation, 12,200 miles of natural gas transmission, gathering and storage pipeline, and 6,500 miles of electric transmission lines. Washington, DC, February 22 - Raytheon Company is offering an integrated, next-generation training solution for the U.S. Air Force's Advanced Pilot Training competition. The SpotterRF CSR monitors two infamous avalanche gullies along the Swiss Alps road leading to the renowned village. The unique 24/7 two-tier perimeter line system triggers automatic road closure at the mouth of the canyon when it detects a snow avalanche threatening motorists on the only road leading to Zermatt.

With a range of 2000 meters and a horizontal opening angle of 90°, the radar surveys an area of more than two square kilometers. When triggered, the system reacts within seconds, immediately closing the road by means of traffic lights and barriers.
Local authorities receive prioritized notification. Live cameras installed along the road allow them to check on the situation immediately — even at night, as all cameras are equipped with infrared floodlights. If the avalanche has not reached the road, authorities can reopen it from their computers or smart phones within minutes.

Hamburg, Germany, March 9 - DERMALOG, the biometrics innovation leader, is providing its identification technology to make a successful contribution towards combating fraud in Nigeria. Recently, the West African country's government identified that more than 23,000 public service employees either did not exist with their recorded name or had been receiving their salary unlawfully.
The campaign against corruption and maladministration launched by the Nigerian Government under President Muhammadu Buhari in May 2015 has resulted in the removal of numerous jobs from public service payrolls.
Of the 312,000 public servants that were audited, 23,306 were found to have received their salary unlawfully or did not even exist. Some of them even received payments from several sources at the same time. 7% of the audited government personell were not existing or were double-paid.
These cases of fraud were identified with the help of the automatic biometric identification system (ABIS) of the Nigerian banks, supplied by the German company DERMALOG. A country-wide biometric system has been implemented for 23 Nigerian banks and for the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) in 2014 and 2015, identifying bank customers by means of fingerprints and face recognition before they open or access a bank account. Under this system, every customer receives an individual number (Bank Verification Number or "BVN"). More than 24 million bank customers have been registered until today - and their bank accounts are also secured by DERMALOG´s innovative biometrics.
Besides these achievements, the BVN system has now helped to find and eliminate the 23,306 non-existing public servants. This permits the country to achieve monthly savings of 10.5 million euros and is making a sustainable contribution to the positive development of the Nigerian state.

Charlotte, NC, March 3 - Duke Energy announced its third solar project to be built in 2016, with the 6-megawatt Woodleaf Solar Facility slated for Rowan County, N.C."We see 2016 shaping up to be active year for Duke Energy-owned solar projects," said Rob Caldwell, senior vice president, Distributed Energy Resources. "Our customers want us to actively pursue renewable energy, and we are delivering on that desire."Today, Duke Energy filed with the North Carolina Utilities Commission (NCUC) on a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity (CPCN) - needed for the plant to be built. CPCN's were filed earlier for projects in Davie and Union counties.
"We appreciate Duke Energy's continued investment in Rowan County with the Woodleaf project," said Greg Edds, chairman of the Rowan County Commissioners. "Duke Energy has made significant investments in the community to meet the energy needs of the region and we look forward to a continuing partnership with them in Rowan County."
The Woodleaf Solar Facility will be located near the intersection of Highway 801 and Old U.S. Highway 70 in the community of Woodleaf in Rowan County. It will occupy roughly 50 acres of land already owned by Duke Energy.
If approved by the NCUC, the project will begin construction in the second quarter of 2016, with completion targeted for the end of the year.
The project will be owned and operated by Duke Energy Carolinas and will help meet North Carolina's Renewable Energy Portfolio Standard.
Duke Energy continues to invest heavily in solar energy in North Carolina as part of its effort to deliver increasingly clean energy to its customers. The company is about to complete 141 megawatts of projects announced in 2015 – in Bladen, Duplin, Onslow and Wilson counties.
For 2016, Duke Energy utilities have announced 81 megawatts of planned solar power – already more than 50 percent of what was done in 2015. This aggressive expansion by Duke Energy companies has led North Carolina to be ranked fourth nationally for overall installed solar.
Over the past eight years, Duke Energy, through its regulated and commercial businesses, has invested more than $4 billion in solar and wind across the country. The company plans to invest about $3 billion in renewable energy over the next five years.
As a point of reference, one megawatt of large-scale solar is equivalent to about 200 typical residential rooftop systems. The number varies by state and conditions.

New York, NY, March 3 - Lightweight metals leader Alcoa has been awarded a five-year contract from the U.S. Army worth up to $50 million for R&D projects focused on developing innovative, lightweighting solutions for ground combat vehicles. The U.S. Army Tank Automotive Research, Development and Engineering Center (TARDEC) awarded Alcoa Defense a "Ground Vehicle Light-Weighting" contract to support efforts to accelerate technology research and development and provide engineering solutions for Department of Defense ground vehicles and intelligent ground systems.
“This agreement with TARDEC builds on Alcoa Defense’s decades-long partnership with the U.S. Army to advance military ground vehicles,” said Eric Roegner, President of Alcoa Defense. “Alcoa’s lightweight solutions have improved troop protection while reducing vehicle weight and assembly time. We look forward to building on our successful track record to help develop the next generation combat vehicle.”
Alcoa’s first “work directive,” or project funded under the contract, is an initiative to advance Alcoa-developed aluminum weld wire alloys. These alloys have already been proven to increase the strength of welded joints—typically the weakest point on a vehicle—as well as reduce corrosion of those welded joints on combat vehicles. Under potential future work directives, Alcoa will provide material research, development, engineering, testing, and evaluation efforts related to ground vehicle lightweighting. These research and development efforts will address various technologies associated with lightweighting such as aluminum forming technology, fastening and joining, modeling and simulation, armor development, material development, material fabrication, energy conservation, and coating and corrosion technology.
A Strong Track Record
Alcoa has built a strong track record of partnering with the U.S. Army to develop solutions that advance the performance of ground combat vehicles. In 2013, Alcoa announced a joint Alcoa-U.S. Army Research Laboratory (ARL) initiative to manufacture the world’s biggest single-piece forged aluminum hull for combat vehicles—the largest closed die forging ever made. This game-changing forging replaces the lower hull of a combat vehicle, significantly improving survivability over traditional welded hulls.
