RELM Wireless and Alberta Health Services Extend Contract For Project 25 Portable and Mobile Radios

WEST MELBOURNE, Fla., March 17, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- RELM Wireless Corporation (NYSE MKT: RWC) today announced that Alberta Health Services (AHS) has extended the term of its contract for an additional four years.  Under the contract RELM provides AHS with P25 800MHz portable and mobile radios and accessories. 

The contract, which was initially announced in June 2015, established a base-term of one year that commenced on March 12, 2015, as well as four one-year options.  The base term expires this month, and AHS has elected to exercise its option for all four available years.  No minimum or maximum procurement is established under the contract, nor does the contract specify or guarantee purchase quantities or dates of equipment orders.  In the twelve months since contract inception, AHS has purchased radios and related accessories from RELM totaling approximately $2.6 million, including a recent order on March 14, 2016 totaling approximately $568,000.

AHS provides health services throughout Alberta and is the largest provider of health care in Canada.  The organization presently deploys a total of approximately 3,000 two-way radios in a range of applications such as hospitals, urgent care centers, psychiatric facilities and emergency vehicles.

COBRA software chosen for Belgian national information system for cooperation in disasters

After extensive national and international comparison and through a public procurement process, the Belgian Interior Ministry has chosen to collaborate with CEMAC (BE) and Defense Group Inc. (DGI, US) for the development of a national information system for co-operation in disasters. 

The "Incident & Crisis Management System" abbreviated ICMS, is based on the COBRATM software platform, which will be adapted to the specific needs of the Belgian users. This first phase of the rollout is to include all cities and municipalities, provinces and relevant federal authorities. 

Through 2016, ICMS will arise as a national security network that will allow users to draw up contingency plans and work together during an emergency through various media and platforms, including the sharing of maps, combined logs, tracking the deployment of the emergency services and resources and more. 

In later phases, this network will be expanded to also connect utilities, ports, high-risk companies, hospitals and other organisations. 

CEMAC, a Belgian company with expertise in the field of emergency planning and crisis 

management and DGI, an American software developer who has provided emergency management software around the globe, signed a strategic cooperation agreement in 2014 and since then have worked together for the further internationalisation of COBRATM software and the development of new modules. 

The first version of the software dates back to 2000. COBRATM was used recently in Brazil as the Common Operating Picture and Emergency Management System for the World Cup Soccer and will also be used during the 2016 summer Olympics.

CertiPath hires new Chief Operating Officer

Reston, VA, March 15 - We are pleased to announce the recent addition of Mr. Paul C. Retzbach to CertiPath as the Chief Operating Officer.  He is a vibrant leader with over 20 years of experience in the global security and software markets.  He has led teams in business development, project management, business process improvement and P&L management for many business segments in the United States, Canada and United Kingdom.  He has garnered a reputation for consistently improving operating efficiency and bottom line results for companies.

He began his career with ADT Security Systems/Tyco International.  He spent many years moving quickly through their ranks holding a variety of roles last of which was Director of Operations.  In 2003, he relocated with his family to the United Kingdom where he was responsible for offices located across southern England. He eventually repatriated back to North America through Tyco's SimplexGrinnell division becoming the Regional Manager for the branch offices in Eastern Canada.

Mr. Retzbach has also worked for United Technologies Corporation (UTC), where he drove all North American operations which included procurement, Six Sigma/Lean initiatives, installation and customer services.  He then joined the privately held M.C. Dean organization just outside of Washington, DC.  He was responsible for the capture and overall program management of integrated security systems in the Department of Defense and Intelligence Community markets. 

As a Vice President at Stanley Security Solutions, a division of Stanley Black and Decker, he stood up the Government Vertical Market Solution Group.  It was established to increase revenue across the multiple Stanley business units.  Most recently he served as Vice President of Customer Services for VidSys, Inc.  In this position his team was responsible for assisting in the sales capture, contract review, solution deployment, technical troubleshooting, maintenance and end user support. 

Mr. Retzbach earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland – College Park and has his MBA, with a concentration in change management, from Johns Hopkins University.  He is a certified Physical Security Professional (PSP) through the American Society of Industrial Security (ASIS) and a Project Management Professional (PMP) with the Project Management Institute (PMI).
