Duos Technologies, Inc., a digital video surveillance and analytics supplier, announced on Nov. 8 that it has been awarded a contract in excess of $680,000 to implement its intelligent video security solutions at a sensitive, major rail section in Indianapolis, IN.
The project is part of a larger security effort to harden critical infrastructure in and around the City of Indianapolis, which will host the 2012 Super Bowl at the Lucas Oil Stadium. The city will be the focal point for the estimated 150,000 visitors expected to travel to Indianapolis for the February 5, 2012 event, which will be viewed world-wide. The award is the latest in a series of strategic contracts, as the major U.S. rail lines have increasingly turned to Duos for customized security solutions.
The project will combine several of Duos’ advanced technologies to provide local law enforcement and rail security personnel with the ability to monitor a wide area from a remote command center. Suspicious activities will be automatically detected and simultaneously reported by the system’s multi layered alarm management engine.
“We have the ability to adapt our technology, our processes, and our delivery to meet challenging customer needs, and this is the hallmark of our company’s success,” said Gianni Arcaini, chairman and CEO of Duos. “Our solution was developed specifically for the rail sector and addresses specific needs of critical infrastructure protection, rather than simply deploying a general vigilance approach.”
